Wake up, Metabolism! Here’s our version of the popular Morning Detox drink!

Taken 20 minutes before breakfast, it’s great for revving up your metabolism, cleaning your system and boosting energy. As the women in our family all have auto-immune issues, we add 1 teaspoon of turmeric and cinnamon each to fight chronic inflammation and balance blood sugar levels.

Ingredients:

  • 1 warm water (or less, if you like a more flavourful drink or take it as a shot)
  • Juice of 1/2 a lemon: It has vitamin C and balances blood sugar levels. It is alkalizing to  help regular body pH.
  • 2 teaspoon apple cider vinegar: Raw, unfiltered with mother apple cidar vinegar promotes digestion). Acetic acid lowers blood pressure. Helps balance pH?
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • ¼ tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp cinnamon: antioxidant great for balancing blood sugar and fighting inflammation.
  • 1/4 Tablespoon ginger (we grated ours)

Realistically speaking, it doesn’t matter how you add these in as long as it’s all added. We just do it this way to make sure the cinnamon and honey is fully dissolved (turmeric will never really dissolve in just water).

Process:

  1. Add in cinnamon powder, turmeric powder, grated ginger
  2. Hot water
  3. Honey
  4. Stir to properly melt and mix all ingredients together
  5. Add in vinegar, lemon
